Yesterday it was an inscrutable problem but a tiny clue led to the
beginning of tremendous changes today. The discovery of superconductivity
is one example. The search for possibilities is the human dream,
yet this dream comes true only at the end of the investigation. |

A
superconductor is a material which undergoes a change almost like
that of a phase transition as the temperature decreases, causing
the electrical resistance of the material to vanish suddenly. The
temperature at the moment this change takes place is call the "critical
temperature"(Tc), and the property of complete electrical conductivity
exhibited by this type of material is called "superconductivity."
One way to observe this phenomenon is through the Meissner Effect.
Although the internal magnetic field of a superconductor is always
maintained at zero, even when the superconductor is subjected to
an external magnetic field, this is because the material is magnetized
in the opposite direction (diamagnetism) in order to repel the external
magnetic field. It is this repulsion which is called "Meissner
Effect".

THIN FILM MATERIAL
CVD sputtering, vacuum coating are thin film coating technologies
used in many fields which were formerly unable to form thin films,
including metals, alloys, and ceramics. These industries have been
able to increase the applications for their products in various
ways through thin film techn

CERAMICS
The world has moved slowly from metal to ceramics. In a word ceramics
is merely earthenware. Although if one thinks carefully for a moment,
ceramics are made of metal combined with something. From ancient
times, people have dreamed how the unique properties which distinguish
metal from ceramics can be utilized in useful ways. The dream has
come to be a reality in our time.
